is committed to the conservation of New Zealand’s
native birds, plants and animals. We aim to support
conservation projects from the sales of nzidentity products.
Currently we are supporting two such projects, with
more in the pipeline.
We have adopted a Tuatara ( see photo above ) through
the Auckland Zoo. We elected to adopt this animal in
captivity, as Tuatara's are only found on the offshore
islands of New Zealand and we think it is important
that people can see the Tuatara, as it is unique to
New Zealand. We also want to support the wonderful work
the Zoo does for conservation. For more information
on the tuatara please check aucklandzoo.co.nz/aucklandzoo
or for general information please visit aucklandzoo.co.nz.
We have also adopted a Hector Dolphin. We elected to
adopt the hector dolphin because in our search for conservation
causes we found that the Hector Dolphin is unique to
New Zealand and is on our endangered species list, so
we decided to do our bit and adopt one. There is a subspecies
called Maui's Dolphin and there are only 111 survivors.
For further information on hector dolphin see www.wwf.org.nz/dolphin
or
if you want to adopt your own hector dolphin go to www.wwf.org.nz.
